There doesn't seem to be a dedicated just "Legbar" thread, or at least a recent one, and I'm not real sure if this fits better here or in the General Breed Discussion forum.

I'm having trouble finding any sort of SOP, especially pictures, for Legbars since they are not recognized by the APA, although they are recognized by the British version apparently. Makes sense since they are a British breed. I know at one time there was a push for recognition but I believe that is now defunct. I've a notion about maybe hatching some chicks from my girls next year, but I'd like to know what to strive for as far as standards go, especially since I don't have a rooster as yet and need to know what to look for in that as well instead of buying or raising the first one that comes along.

If the girls are bad examples I'll drop this idea and look for a decent dark brown egg layer rooster to breed F1 Olive Eggers instead. But not knowing what I'm looking for I don't know!

I'd say they're at Point of Lay at 18 weeks old although I'm not really expecting any eggs for another month or so.

Any opinions on these girls?
