I would speculate a cross. because there isn't a distinct salmon breast that is 'well defined' as the SOP states, I would suspect that the cross is something that doesn't have wild-type in the E-Locus.

I was taking a few pictures of my youngest pullets this morning and was happy to note a few good things about them. These 2 might be on my cull/layer flock list but I am taking my time to decide.
This first pullet I just love her tail angle (it is normally, in a relaxed position, held much lower, close to the 35 degree angle) and I love that it is wide or tent shaped when viewed from behind. My other females aren't as tented that I recall.
This pullet the wind blew as I took the picture and I was able to get a better snap shot of her barred hackles. I also love her Cream colored hackles against the white snow background. Also note her tail doesn't seem as tented as her sister above.

These are familiar traits I have seen in my flock -
the dark crested pullet with cream hackles and the gold crested pullet with matching hackles.
I may find the barred hackle feathers with either crest color.
Yes the barring should be present in all females regardless of crest color. I just liked the pic because the wind blew and it showed her barring better than if it was laying regular![]()
X2thanks for the pretty pics!
