Open Contest Creative Brooder Contest—17th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-Along

Today, a turkey hen appeared with 13 poults. My turkeys free-range, so I had to make something for them to stay in until the poults are bigger.

I scrounged around and found some 2" x 4" welded wire, some 1" hardware cloth, and some zip ties:

I placed the hardware cloth on top of the 2" x 4" welded wire and zip-tied them together:

Then I stood it up and made a circle and put the hen and her poults in it:

Simple and smart! I'm always thrilled when I can use some of the excess hardware clothing hanging around. And those babies! I didn't realize how tiny turkeys could be. 😍
