Creepy phone call, now I'm paranoid! UPDATE: PG 7

Why do people give out personal information for a posting such as this. Oh yeah we are from "susanville" too? Posting a response to this type of thing and giving and admitting to living in whereever is not smart. Since he is obviously calling a bunch of people try to get some information by getting him to "monologue".
He could be a nut case who got personal information from your facebook page or someone you facebook with and on and on. This is why you don't post personal informtion on facebook or anywhere else. They share it and then that person shares it. etc. etc.

Since this site has a number of people who have received this call see if there is a common denominator between you all. Collectively notify the police again.

Yah, that's what we heard too, I don't know the guy is a whackjob. I think we are going to hope it was a one time thing, but if it happens again we will call the Cleveland Police, and take further steps to find this guy!

this is really freaky. you are dong the right thing by getting your self protection in order. i have one suggestion in regard to the pepper spray. After reading an article I purchased some wasp spray. here is the link to snopes that tells you about wasp spray vs. pepper spray.

Good luck and please stay safe.

Thanks, I'll check it out. Hubby is sad because I bought us both a can of pepper spray and all they had were pink cans, LOL. But proceeds went to Breast Cancer Awareness, so I'm happy with that.

I sure hope all you folks who are calling the number are blocking your own number, if not this wacko will start calling you too.

Ya but they also might get SO mad they come over.
I dont think talking down to someone will help.. You never know what they have in their hands when they ring the doorbell.
Just simply say Im sorry sir, wrong number and hang up.

But see I want em to come over, these kinda people are low lifes who never confront someone face to face...They feed off your fear thats why they keep doing it...They now controle you...
Sides they know where she lives and works, confront the bullie is what I would do...But your not me so.....

You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do.

Well he didn't get fear out of us, he just got confusion, we had no clue what the guy was babbling about half the time. I am the kind of person that would rather just hang up and that is that, but my husband is a button pusher

I just wanted to add that I'm sending all good thoughts your way that this wacko
just drops off the face of the earth or climbs back under the rock he came from
or that karma catches up to him- whatever- so that y'all are safe and can feel
secure in your own home again!

kelseygirl707 Just a thought get a few cans of Wasp spray they spray somthing like 28 feet and burn like hell on eyes. Also if you have one by your door or in your office its alot less out of sorts compared to a pepper spray can next to you. The farther you can be from whoever you have to use it on the better. Also I would have your husband teach you pistols and then get a lil 38 and keep it in you pocket. I hope it all stops for you soon, stay safe

I'd consider a phone call, or personal visit to the closest office of the FBI. if the call really came from acrossed state lines, they would have jurisdiction to pursue it. they could also probably get the cell info from verizon. there may not be an 'account' to trace the call too, but they CAN trace which tower(s) routed the signal. depending on the phone, they may be able to pull GPS info from it as well.

There may also be a federal law covering using technology (computers, cell phones, etc) to do this kind of stuff to people, but it's been awhile since I've read up on any of it.
