creole thoughts please

ok so i got a NN creole bantam cock that i am putting over a game type creole hen. really hoping to some what improve on the cocks coloring if that is possible with this pairing. what do you all think? i have not worked with the creole gene before but i do have creole birds that i got.

this cock here came with the pullet above and i really like his creole coloring what about him, hows his coloring? (kinda what i am hoping for on the NN)

i also have this cockerel

could throw this hen in as well but shes not as creole as i would like and is medium in size

any and all help and advice on which way to go with the creole coloring is appreciated

The cock is nice ! About the pullet.........I am not sure that hens are a mirror image of the male. Not sure but going by the Cream Legbar the female has a softer look and a salmon color chest. I'll take pictures this afternoon. As far as i have read the crele is a mix of partridge and barred which makes me think that the female shoud be more partidge like with the breast color I mentioned.

The roo you like seems to be true crele- has a proper duckwing plus a black/white breast. NN roo seems close to it.

The pullets are not true crele. Crele is simply a clean red duckwing with barring added.

It's possible to get more crele looking birds out of the pullets but would have to hatch lots as too much buff coloring will be a very persistent problem.

Easiest route would be to get clean red duckwings. The NN roo bred over red duckwing might give proper colored creles but will have to do the breeding and see if he's pure for whatever's giving him that buff color.

alternate would be to find true crele hens however that might be harder than finding clean red duckwings.

floppy comb is due to mixing of pea and single comb. bred with a single comb, half will be like this and half singles. Pea will be very easy to cull out, it's gone forever once you find single combed birds you like.

White in lobes however is very difficult to clean out.. the problem is many cockerels will seem to have red lobes only to show white past one year of age.

it is hard to tell wheaten roos from red duckwing roos, hens or chicks are very easy though- wheaten chicks are either all cream or cream with single or a few narrow lines down the back. red duckwing are always very crisp chimpunk stripes. Wheaten hens are light bodied with colored tails.. some hens can have a lot of detail on back but their breasts strongly tend to be all or mostly clear buff color. duckwing hens have a lot of detailing all over even on breast and it should have a salmon tint(wheatens never have a salmon tint as far as I know).

The hen you asked about looks very promising.... she is not wheaten and seems to be lacking whatever is making the buff color on your other birds.
