crest plucking

I have 5 peachix..but only 1 has their crest lol. I give them stuff to pick at & entertain themselves..why do they do this? & can i prevent it? ..they look so strange without them.
They have a nice jungle-gym setup to play on & plenty of room..i dont get it

Perhaps you could take some cleaned peacock train feathers and give it to them to play with, LOL

I have some that do that too, not sure why, if they have a lot of space. My theory is it's just too enticing, like a cat and a feather..................
