Still not an Australorp.
I agree, NOT a pure Australorp. It's a mix.

Still not an Australorp.
She is all black and has green sheen to her feathers, she has slate legs and dark beak, Australorp body shape and the comb is ok, not floppy but... yellow eyes and the crest are a big problem. She is not a pure AustralorpView attachment 1239346 View attachment 1239349
Gosh her eyes look so yellow in this picture... so much for "orange".
Don't have a picture of the parents though.
Hmmm, okay... makes me wonder about my "marans" girls then. I'll post them on another thread. She is all black and has green sheen to her feathers, she has slate legs and dark beak, Australorp body shape and the comb is ok, not floppy but... yellow eyes and the crest are a big problem. She is not a pure Australorp
So why isn't she an Austalorp? What makes her a mix?
Hmm... I'll link my other thread to this one too.Pure Australorps have brown or black eye color, not yellow or orange eye color. They also do not have crests like that. The Crested Cream Legbars have crests. My guess is that your's could be a mix of the 2.
You can see very well the crest in this picture. The eye color is brown and yellow.. also in the previous picture, if you see carefully you can notice that she has yellow eyes with some brown pigments inside. By the way I love the sheen color in her plumage!https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/pure-marans-or-brs.1217127/
Here is a better pic of my hen.
