I'd like to see pictures of your crested cream legbars. I've always like the breed and recently got a cockerel and three pullets (they are about 4 months old). I'm concerned with the cockerel, as his comb is very curved. I'm thinking it's probably not good for breeding high-quality birds, but fine for backyard purposes.

There are three varieties (4 if you count the frosts) of legbars. Cream, silver and gold.
Looks like two of the hens as well as the rooster are silver.
Problem is only cream legbars are created also the only variety that lay blue eggs.
IDK what going on with them.
OP are you from the states? UK? Or?

Oops guess that second one is the rooster. So yes the rooster and one pullet are silver based. Cream are barred gold duckwing with cream. Those two are barred silver duckwing. No way of knowing if they carry cream or not. Someone mentioned gold crele. In the states we only had the creams and now I guess they're looking to get the frosts (recessive white over the cream pattern) and golden crele (cream pattern without cream) as approved varieties.

Back to your rooster. I'm sure some by the book guys will come alone with some definite views. IMO the comb is undesirable but happens when the males have larger crests. Some wouldn't breed it or at least breed away from it. Others would see it as an asset for getting larger crests on female offspring.
See what others say and decide for yourself. But you have a far bigger issue.
Continued in a moment....
