Well, i have been looking at ideal and it says they have crested and non crested.

If you breed a crested duck to a non what do you end up with? Are they still show quality? ( if i start out with show quality)

What is the "lethal gene" that they talk about?

Does the crest effect egg laying or attitude?

I think you are not supposed to breed two crested together. I think two copies of this gene are lethal . If crested is co dominant and you breed crested to non crested you should get 50% crested and 50% regular.

The crested gene to my knowledge does not behave like the dark colored gene in ethnic people. I mean when a caucasian person and a ethnic lets say black person have kids , they kids skin color is in between the parents skin colors , kind like Denise on the Huckstables. Crested behaves like the gene that causes the most common form of dwarfism Achondropl....some some . if two people with achondroplasia ? have kids and the kid receives both genes ,its deadly. If it receives one gene for it ,it will show dwarfism and if it gets two normal genes it will be regular size. Sort of the samething goes for crested.

There's nothing more frightning than acute achondroplasia...
