I got some hatching eggs, from my friends mothers coop. The rooster is a very good looking crested type with mostly white feathers that have black on the edges. The hens are all types of layers like RIR barred rock, Leghorn, Buff orps, etc, and theres a couple of the blck with white crests. A couple of the eggs are marked as to which hen layed it, but most of the brown ones are unknown.

What are the chances of getting a crested barred rock or RIR? Is the crest dominate? I think it would be cool to have a crested BR. Tell me what you think!

I don't know but keep me posted because I have some polish hens and roosters but they are about 10 to 12 weeks old now but it would be interesting to the outcome.

All of the crested cross breeds I've seen have a smaller less poofy crest. Barring is pretty dominant so you may get some that look like Barred Rocks but with little crests, otherwise I think most of them will look like mixes. I bet they'll be cute though!
