Crested sapphire gem?

Hi All, I got some sapphire gems at TSC, all seem normal except for one named Moe for his "Mohawk". I have examined his skull and there seems to be nothing abnormal. These pics are a few weeks old but i will post some new ones in the morning. the mohawk has only gotten bigger as it gets older, not like a polish, more like a crested duck. Has anyone come across this before? Any input will be appreciated.

I have sapphire gems bread with a mixed copper Moran that are crested. They are only 2 months but they also have long feathers on the side of their face?
