Crew suddenly viscous killers

8 Hens, 1, 4, 6 years old, been together since day one, 96sqft of coop floor space (enough room for 24 chickens), open free range.

My crew suddenly has turned viscous on one four year old. One of three hens will start the attack and the rest will join in. They look to be trying to kill her. WHY?

Give the victim a thorough physical, because chickens tend to pick on the weakest links (including the sick).
