Cricket Virus???

I was going to order crickets on line to feed to my chicks (because they love them and it's fun to watch) but I saw something about a CRICKET VIRUS! Does anyone know about this? Is it even safe to buy crickets from the pet store to feed to your chicks? I'm gonna try and find out more info but just wondering if anyone has heard of this?

There is a cricket virus that is deadly for the crickets. I haven't heard of a cricket specific virus that is deadly to other creatures. I have read, elsewhere and uncertain as to the quality of the source, that using egg cartons in raising crickets can spread coccidi (sp?) or salmonella - if the egg carton is contanimated...
