Its been a long time since I have been here, but I have a problem... My rooster, "Forest Gump", has been crippled since hatching. His legs were splayed, his toes were curled, and I had no idea how to treat it. Thankfully, after doing a bit of research, I found out how to make "hobbles" to get his legs into place... The curled toes, I was unable to fix. Now, almost a year later, Forest "walks" (hops) on his hocks and his toes are very curled. He is unable to move his "elbow" more than just a little and is constantly stuck in a squatting position. He seems to be in more pain recently and I have made "slings" for him with soft fabric that holds him up enough that his feet only touch the ground a little. (to relieve pressure on his joints). Forest was the first chick I have had, and since him, I have had many more who are very much healthy. Now, here's my question. Is there any way to partially fix this problem? if not, how can I relieve the pain? Should I consider putting him down? he really is my baby and it would be really hard to let him go, however, I will if I have to.
