My neighbors have had fox issues when they free range their chickens. They just left on vacation and now the fox has figured out how to climb the fence pen. It's 5 and a half ft tall and all metal with a metal tube for the top rail. I'm wondering if I slather the top rail with a ton of Crisco or some other greasy substance if that will keep him from getting over at least until they get back.
I'm trying to post a pic but it's not working. Will keep trying.

It might...but I kind of doubt it.
Might be worth a try if they or you don't mind cleaning it up.

Hot wire at the bottom and top with the fence well grounded would be the best solution here.

I know with coyotes if you put a rolling bar on top of a fence it keeps them from climbing it may work on foxes
I was going to suggest the rolling bar....but this is not his fence or chicken they belong to the neighbors who are on vacation.
