I've seen ducks and geese up at the higher elevations in the mountains of CO, swimming in little holes in the ice.

I used to have a Muscovy hen that would freeze worse than the other ducks for some reason. I always had to bring her in and thaw her out in the mornings, I just couldn't watch her shiver outside and she really seemed to enjoy the warm towel in the laundry basket
