I purchased a black Ameraucana pullet and cockerel from a hobby/show breeder a couple miles up north. The breeder told me they will breed true 100% of the time, that the hen’s guaranteed to lay blue eggs, and that they can be traced back to John Blehm’s stock. The pullet has filled out quite nice but the cockerel probably isn’t even half way there since roosters mature more slowly than hens. My question is: How well do you think they will fare at a poultry show? They both have black feathers with a green sheen, black beaks with a horn tip, slate legs with white toenails, and pea combs.

I know that the hen’s topline may be a little questionable but that was just her letting me know that I’m in her personal space.
