Critique my (potential) coop - I'm worried!

Assuming you plan on going through with it you need some suggestions, right?.... if you are worried about the slotted flooring I would just buy a scrap piece of vinyl flooring to go overthe top, that plus 4-6 inches of bedding and the drafts would be gone. A door for the coop should be fairly simple just a piece of wood or plexi glass, small window from remodel somewhere and your girls would be safe and possibly get more light just p/u some hinges and a latch/lock of some sort..... and if you are extremely worried about tunneling in you should be able to attach some wire fencing 1x2in or something like that across the bottom and just nail/staple it on. I think it should work just fine for 4 hens.... and you could easily make additional runs that you could attach f you find they need more space. Good Luck!

I'm not thrilled with the design. Maybe you could ask them about building a custom design to your specifications?

I like the designs of these coops:

(the stationary coop, not the tractor)

and these ones:

Personally, I think it's very hard to build a tractor with a closed coop suitable for winter and make it light enough to move and secure enough from predators. You won't be able to move the tractor during the winter months anyway because of the snow, right? Why not make a stationary coop and run, then a lightweight day tractor?
