Could someone judge my Speckled Sussex? All are this years hatch. Rooster is from different location. One hen is from different location. Then six other hens are from same location. I will upload more pictures.
Thanks you in advance.

I just realized most of these pictures are of the same two hens. So for the moment judge Rooster, hen1 less specks, hen2 more specks.

The one hen that has way too much white? she's way too gay .you should breed her to a cock who has almost no speckles at all. maybe you can tame the white down a little bit.
Best,
Karen
gay : equals too much white on a speckled Sussex

The mostly white hen..I would not use..her black is too inconsistent...the barring is all over the place..and she has too much white..the other hen is not too dark...u want them to be more reddish/brown their first year.. the male...he is showing way too much white for that young of an age...if u bred the darker female with him u would want to keep the darkest chicks out of the group..the best coloring of the three is the darker hen.

Mary,
Keep the darkest hen and sell the others. Buy the very best speckled Sussex cock you can find. A show placer. Breed him to this hen. Keep the best son. Then breed the best daughters back to the original sire you bought for each of the next 3 generations. Now breed the pullet daughters from this last generation (4), back to the son you held back from the 1st generation.
By now you will know your strain and how to proceed.
Best,
Karen
