Hey everyone! I'm still here. Just been a busy week. I have my first eggs in "The Scary Bator" right now. We always have a ton going on at our house in the spring.

First of all Scrambled.........Thanks so much for starting this swap & for twisting my arm to do it! It has forced me to learn a new pattern. I've never taken the time to learn granny squares.

Ozark...........Thanks for e-mailing me the info on the SWAP! This is so much fun!

Jacie, I love the heart pattern BYC one.

Scrambled, Jacie, Gina, K&H chickn Farm(Shelly), Mustangs, gina, Mexisbird, EggCentric, Chickenrancher's wife(Jada), Mangled, Wildsky, Jeaucamom............Your squares look awesome! Hope I didn't leave anyone out.

I didn't see my MIL last weekend to get help. I was a bit worried, b/c I've never known how to read the crochet pattern directions. I've always been to busy to sit still long enough to figure it out. My grandma taught me how to crochet when I was about 7 yrs old and I know the basics, but it was hands on and not by a written pattern to follow. My MIL taught me her mother's afghan design, but then again I could do it b/c she showed me the steps and it wasn't all the mumbo jumbo abreviation directions.

So I went to the tutorials in a link on this thread or maybe it was something that Ozarkhen e-mailed me and I figured out the very basic granny square.

OK, to edge them I've just been doing the slip stitch....is that ok? I've got about 5 done. I saw another pattern that is so pretty, but can't read the stupid directions. I am crochet direction deficient.

Wildsky hope your horse is doing better. Great hatch! I love the tuffs!

Sorry to go OT, but I thought you would all like this:

A true love story.

A DARK AND STORMY NIGHT

They were together in the House.

Just the two of them.

It was a cold, dark, stormy night. The storm had come quickly

And

Each time the thunder boomed he watched her jump.

She looked across the room and admired his strong appearance...and

Wished that he would take her in his arms, comfort her and protect her

From the storm.

Suddenly, with a pop, the power went out... She screamed...

He raced to the sofa where she was cowering.

He didn't hesitate to pull her into his arms.

He knew this was a forbidden union and

Expected her to pull back.

He was surprised when she didn't resist but instead clung to him.

The storm raged on...

They knew it was wrong...

Their families would never understand... So consumed were

They in their FEAR that they heard no opening

Of doors...just the faint click of a camera......

Wow... everyone is so talented! If I had a ball of yarn, or spool, or how ever they come in, I'd probably turn it into a huge knot on accident. Everyone so has to post more pics!

RND 1 ch 3 ( counts as first dc, now and throughout ) 2 dc in ring, ch 2, 3 dc in ring, ch 2 3 times join with slip st to first dc - 12 dc

RND 2 ch 3 work FPtr around next dc, dc in next dc, 2 dc ch 2 dc in next ch 2 sp, dc in next dc work FPtr around next dc dc in next dc, 2 dc ch 2 2 dc in next ch-2 sp repaet join with slip st to first dc - 28 sts and 4 ch 2 sps

RND 3 ch 3 work FPtr around next FPtr dc in next 3 dc, 2 dc ch 2 2 dc in next ch 2 sp dc in next 3 dc work FPtr around next FPtr dc in next 3 dc 2 dc ch 2 2 dc in next ch 2 sp repeat around slip st to first dc

to make this square match the 6x6 I added another rnd -

to make the Front Post Treble :
YO twice, insert hook from front to back around post of st indicated YO and pull up a loop 4 loops on hook YO and draw through 2 loops on hook 3 times.

here is what is will look like
