:aww mamboyd thats awful, I hope that all the damage they did and not any more.

Tiki a warhorse is a breed of gamefowl chicken that my DH rasies, they are very mean and protective when broody or with chicks, we two hens and a roo that killed a opassum that had wandered into their area. When i want to give my chicks a chance to grow up out side of human contact like a real chicken I give the eggs to them to hatch and raise and you would be surprised at how many less chicks I lose.

well I am off to come up with someore patterns to make us somemore cool squares. read ya'll later. and thinks scrambled i thought that would make it a little more special for everyone. later Mawchickkidie

Wow, Nigerian and begging for money...I must have gotten one of your emails Mamaboyd..in fact every day for the past month, lol!! I get those stupid begging emails everyday and it just shocks me that anyone would actually believe them they are all in caps and written so poorly, I feel sorry for anyone that gullible (and yes, I am gullible too..I totally believed croc girl remember?!! but the Nigerian stuff is alittle much, lol!!)

I have ten more and then I will have two each and be done..and you only missed that snarky Ami getting booted off Survivor wegotchickens..glad to see her go..since yowman got kicked off I have been pulling for Ozzie although I like James too. Those woman are more devious on this show than normal, talk about some cut throating, wow!!!

This whole swap has been really fun, light-heated and enjoyable. Sort of like a zen experience where it really is more about the journey than the destination...and what a nice journey we've had here!!! You guys are the best!!

You have about 3 1/2 weeks left and I would imagine that a couple of folks we haven't heard from along the way, we won't hear from. Ya'll might want to pm and check on a handful that haven't checked in and see how they are doig, you will know the names you haven't seen. No real harm done if they can't finish, wish they wuold send in what they have though as that will boost the final numbers.

You know I crochet ALL the time, it is my favorite hobby, been doig it for several years and made scads of afghans in all levels of difficulty but truthfully, I have almost never worked with grannies (lol!!! granny hookers!!!! now THAT is a visual!!!) but I love workig with them now and how easy they are to take with you different places..I've done a bunch at lunch at work!! I've been looking at patterns and think I might do an afghan with those hexagon grannies next found a pattern book at walmart...that red heart makes, the book was about 3 dollars and titled "Crochet & Knit Cozy Comfy Home" I like the pattern on the cover with the hexagon grannies in the country colors and the red border..pretty and different from what I normally make..would make a nice christams gift, lol!!..alot of the newer style grannies are being bordered in bright reds now too, might even go that route as they look so cheerful. I have a really loud one with all the "young" colors in that pretty Bernat yarn to make so my son's girlfriend next, it has fringes hanging all over it and she went nuts when she saw the picture...the pattern is in a Leisure Arts Book called "Projects from your Scrap Bag" item #4594, really hip and young looking afgahn, the book cost me $7.95 from theleisureboutique.com ya'll might want to check it out since you are now hooked on hookin!! Also, join the lionbrand.com site and they will send you a great catalog that has some free patterns in it and their site is wonderful. One more I like is Anniesattic.com....you can get pattern books for cheap there and they will send a newsletter out daily with the pattern of the day..well so does that patterncentral.com site...have to be in the loop, lol! if you're gonna keep crocheting!!! Y'll have a great day!!

Will check out those sites scrambles and yes I am now hooked on hookin and thinking about christmas gifts. You have a good day scrambles. And everyone else too!

I belong to a site called .. sweaterbabe.com and they send you a free pattern monthly. It is both crochet and knitting. I have made some of their items.

Hey all, I am not part of this swap, I am still teaching myself how to crochet but on page 5 under wildsky name she gives a weblink with alot of really nice granny square patterens. Check it out. I hope to know what I'm doing by fall and can join the next one.....Laura

Well, I've not had much progress on my squares over the past week. My count does stand officially at 36 today. I've been out working the yard when it hasn't been raining.

The dentist has my darn root canal SOOO screwed up on my last molar in the back, I've been miserable. Now it's abcessed (AGAIN!!) and I have to wait even longer to get the darn thing finished. The worst part is, I couldn't even take the pain pills they offered because they knock me out, and the kids would destroy the house, LOL.
No stoned hookin' here.

Anyway, just wanted to check in and let you all know I was still around.

Thanks for all the pattern sites! I made a new folder in my favorites called BYC Hookin' Links.

Hey Darlene, I have a question. Do they need to be in the mail by May 1st or in your hands by May 1st?

I have the required 20 plus completed, but want to see if I can make at least one for each person. We leave this afternoon for the trip, but I'll be back Tue night. I'll just send all mine together. I'll get mailing info when I get back from the trip. I'll try to post a pic of what I have done in a min.

Thanks sooooooooo much for doing this SWAP. I'm looking forward to the next one, but want to learn other patterns. Thanks for sharing your passion. It's been great!!!!!

Well, gotta go pack for the trip. I'm getting excited about it.

You ladies have a great day & "HAPPY HOOKIN"!!!!!!

KIM
