My chick has crooked toes compared to others, seems fine otherwise, is there anything to worry about? She seems to be able to perch fine, walk fine, and everything.
Thanks

Since she seems to be doing fine, I wouldnt worry about it.

Thanks I wasn't really worried(maybe just a bit) but was wondering if it would be something that hinders her when she gets older.
Time will tell.

Welcome To BYC

Can you post some photos?

You will need to try to fix crooked toes the best you can, it can have an impact on her later in life. Provide her with some poultry vitamins containing B2(Riboflavin) as well.

Keep us posted.

I had a chick that had that too and I came here for advice as well and thanks to the great people on here my chick is now a pullet with no problems. I opted for the taping and I only had to leave it on for a few days and she was cured. It was easy to do as well

I'll try to get pics today and post, but what can happen if not corrected? She is 3 weeks old now, I didnt think much of it since it didnt affect her at all she still perches and runs and scratches and all. sometimes when she stands they are straight too it just seems sometimes she lets them turn. I can't explain it correctly, it wasn't like most of the pics on the links that were sent it is like the one pic after the feet were fixed instead of pointing straight out the end of the middle toe and the end of the outer toe turn outwards.and sometimes the nail lays on the side but not always. And everything goes completely normal when she perches. I'm not sure is three weeks too old for the treatments?

I did read that it could have been the floor of the incubator so I will try and put some non skid stuff down for the next hatch. She did try and run all over the incubator as soon as she was out of the shell and she was slipping a lot.

Thanks for all the help.

Well, depending on how crooked they are, as she grows/matures, if they aren't corrected she could eventually have some trouble walking/perching. Photos are always helpful. Some chickens do fine with slightly crooked toes.

The middle pic is the most common, when she gets lazy it's more like the bottom pic.

You may want to try to fix them - there are instructions/photos in the following links. Vitamin B2(Riboflavin) is essential development of legs/feet - you can crush a human B-Complex tablet and add it to her chick starter daily or find a poultry vitamin that contains B vitamins.

Well we're giving it a shot she hates the sandals but we hope it straightens them out, we were going to leave them 5 days if she doesn't peck them off first LOL. Any thoughts if this will be long enough?
