I don't know why I never noticed this until today, but one of my EEs has crooked toes. Just the ones on the inside of her feet that point to each other. I have a pic to show. She's standing on a length of wood so they all look crooked, but I think you'll see what I mean. It doesn't seem to bother her and she walks just fine, but it does seem to be a deformity. Is this common?

There was another thread about this, this morning. It said it is often a result of an incubation problem. I have about 4 of them out of the 50+ I raised this year. Does not bother them.

I had two of 16 babies that developed crooked toes and after awhile they seemed to fix themselves. I don't remember them having the toe issues when I first got them as hatchlings and they don't have any problem now. They sure were UG-LEE for a few weeks.

Now another one of her toes is crooked. She's 12 weeks old and now has 3 crooked toes. My other chickens are doing fine. Will I need to make these shoes for her to correct her toes or will adding vitamins be enough?

Deficiency is often involved in this... give four drops of POLYVISOL enfamil (not the one with the "extra" iron) once a day in beak for two weeks and I suggest you also give a general supplement in adddition to this > I reccomend AviaCharge 2000 (available to purchase online from McMurry or strombergs) as it is one of the most complete supplements I know of providing all in the correct ratios and also approved for organic certified.
