This morning my 10 week old Barnevelder pullet was acting very odd. . . She was all puffed out and would stand next to the feeding trough while the other hens ate but would make no attempt to eat herself. She woudl jsut stand there puffed up and seemd to want to go to sleep. . . Her eye lids would drop and she would more or less hunch over. I removed her from the other girls thinking the worst. . . But came to find the right side of her chest was huge and hard. I helped her to drink some pediate periodically throughout the day and have not provided chick feed in hopes the crop would loosen and empty. Now this evening the crop is still very large but it is squishy in nature and she has been pecking or scratching at her chest as her chest feathers are sticky with blood. The crop almost seems to weigh her down. Any advice would be supremely appreciated! She is my only Barnevelder and I was been eyeing this breed ever since I started on my chicken raising adventures! PLEASE HELP!
