I've noticed my five year old Barred Rock, Wild Thing, has not been her usual self for the last few days. She has had greenish yellow poop around her vent. I put wax paper under her spot on the night roost and will try to post photos of her very liquid poop. When I let the girls out this morning Wild Thing just stayed on the roost, looking very ill. I brought her inside and she ate some scrambled egg and a few Layena crumbles. As she is breathing she is rocking slightly, as if it is an effort to just breathe. I felt her crop and it seems as it may be impacted.....a pretty solid ball almost the size of a tennis ball. I've gently massaged her crop and got her to eat a couple of pieces of solidified coconut oil. I've put out a dish of electrolyte water (Save a Chick) but she has not had a drink. Should I try to use a syringe to get water down her beak? Should I continue to do gentle massage? Since I brought her from the coop this morning she has not pooped and she seems very uncomfortable. Her comb color is still fairly good, but it is limp and more flopped over than normal. I could not see any worms in her poop. She is one of seven pet hens and the only one who is ill. I have not wormed the girls for quite some time. I have Valbazen which is dated 2022. I have used a vet who specializes in birds, and I can contact her for advice, but she has told me that she has "not had good luck" with chickens although she pulled one of my Buff Orpingtons though an infection with antibiotics. I hate to see my girl in pain and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm continuing to massage her crop. I've gotten her to drink some of the electrolite water and I found just a very small amount of some Meloxicam....supposed to be for pain and inflammatory issues.

Her crop seems less solid and she has been drinking at least some of the electrolyte water.

Should I go ahead and treat her for worms? Or will that just add to the problem if worms are not the issue?
