Cross beak chick

That’s great you were able to care for her without too much difficulty. How often did you have to trim her beak? I heard every 3 days to a week.

I know you weren’t asking me, but I trim my crossbeak’s beaks once a week. I have three crossbeaks, and each one is different, but their beaks aren’t as bad as your chick’s beak. My crossbeaks receive a lot of extra, special care because if not, they would starve, so they are separated from the larger population. I love them to death, but if I didn’t have the time to care for them, I would have culled them. Otherwise, they would have just slowly suffered and starved. If you do have the time, and you actually want to commit to this chick and it’s needs, I would definitely care for it, but if not, I would cull.

I have a 2 week old Ameraucana chick with a cross beak like yours. I'm not sure I'm ready to cull. I've only had them for 11 days! I can't devote the time it sounds like it's going to take for Ace (kids named her) to succeed.
