Cross beak not eating like normal after beak trim.

It is good to have that on stand-by even if you don't use it for her! I have never done tube feeding, only syringe feeding. Tube feeding sounds scary to me.

They all went to bed a little while ago so I’m hoping she’s back to her self in the morning.
They both sound scary to me! I would definitely try to syringe feed before I tried the tube.
 
They have rather sensitive nerves in their beaks so they can feel while feeding. Beyond a certain point, I'm sure it feels about equal to having a finger chopped off. Not only does that make a person hesitant to reach out with or use their hand, strong pain reduces appetite.
I wouldn't rush to tube feed her. Give her till the end of tomorrow to hopefully feel numb enough to start eating again. A painkiller would be ideal but I don't know of any that are safe or effective for chickens. (we once tried to put a chicken down with a massive overdose of opioid medication... it didn't do anything or diminish his pain at all)

The weird thing is, she didn’t even make a noise when I clipped it. I also touched it after I was done and she didn’t flinch or squawk at me. Do you think it still hurt her? I think I can give her aspirin so I’ll double check and if she isn’t eating by tomorrow I’ll try that. I wish I didn’t need to trim her beak but if I don’t it becomes very overgrown because of the cross.

It did bleed pretty good but she didn’t act like it hurt at all. I got the bleeding stopped with cornstarch. When I went to trim her bottom beak she squealed and I figured it hurt so I didn’t trim it. (The top beak is no shorter than my other girls). When I made her mash (which she is crazy for) she wouldn’t hardly touch it. Normally she gobbles it up. I feel SO bad. Is she just adjusting to her beak being shorter?

Sounds like she is in pain. This can put them off feed for sure.

If she's not eating by morning, try Torpedo feeding her and see if that helps.

So my question is…because she has to have her beak trimmed…do I just do it at night right before bed so she has time to rest overnight and should be ready to eat again the next morning?
