One of my chicks they are almost 2 wks old has a cross beak, it was barely noticable when he hatched but it is getting worse. Can they do ok long term or is he better off being culled. I say a he because he butts my hand when I go to handle him and if he is a roo I can't keep him anyhow as I live in town.

I have had 2 chicks come out this way. One we couldn't tell had an issue until several weeks old, and she is still doing fine. One had a slight crossbeak at birth taht got worse and worse. We finally culled her, and wished we'd done it sooner. I expect it has a lot to do with how severely the beak is malformed. Either way I guess it is a judgement call.
