I have one of my spring chicks who developed a cross beak. She still seems to be doing fine, eating and drinking (now 26ish weeks). She is still smaller than the other 2 chicks we got at the same time--those 2 are as big as my grown up 3 hens! I do have to keep the feeder full and use crumble and not pellet food for her sake though. And I've also noticed that whenever I bring most treats out, she ignores them and while the others come running for them, she runs for the feeder to get a snack

So my questions--

1. Will she ever lay? (the other 2 have started laying)
2. will her beak keep growing and getting more curved--the top beak is very curved. And if it does, will i need to do anythign to keep it from getting overgrown like clip or file it?
3. will she have any other troubles with it?

Thanks!

(still pretty new to chickens--i got my adults given to us in january and added the chicks in march)

I'm sorry, I have no idea and am new to all of this too but I just had to say that she sounds like a sweety and I feel for her!

1. yes she will lay eggs thats the good news

2. Yes her beak will keep growing do a search on here many people have crossed beaked chickens and care for them so do a search on crossed beaks to find out how to maintain them.

3. I am sorry but yes you might have to hand feed her and give her water
