cross breeding egyptian fayoumis for free ranging?

I raise a Mediterranean breed that loves hot weather but have survived our extreme winters living in trees - rain, snow, wind with flying colors.

I can't handle chickens roosting in tree's .I'd worry myself sick if I got those. lol

I feel you. Sometimes they just choose to and go so high I don't have a ladder long enough to reach them.

I'd feel bad if my chickens roosted in trees and died but I'm terrified of heights .I will never climb a ladder sorry.

What about fayoumis are you considering “unfriendly?” If you mean skittishness, I find that to be a highly desirable trait.

Mine roost where they choose, there is a coop,no one skeeps in the coop..3 are easter eggers,mille fleur d'uccle,2 sebrights abd an andalusian sleep way up there...
