Both welsummers and wyandottes have been crossed with Barnevelders. Wyandottes were used to create many of the "new" colors in Europe (black, white, silver double laced, and blue double laced) . Around 1898 a rough version of the Golden Wyandotte even used in the creation of the Barnevelder. Welsummers were also crossed with Barnevelders for various reasons like for vigor, egg color, disease resistance and even by mistake. Crossing with welsummers really messes up the double lacing pattern for generations. Gold laced wyandottes will also not improve egg color and the "columbian" gene will mess up the double laced pattern.
