I've read that peafowls and pheasants are part of the same for, there's even a peacock pheasant. I've been wondering if it is a cross breed between the two birds. If not, is it even possible to cross breed them? Would it be a bad idea is someone did?

A peacock pheasant isn't a cross between the two species, it's just the common name for that bird, so given because it has some markings like and displays like peacocks do.

However, some crosses to other species have been done with peafowl, namely to guinea fowl, as seen here. I do not know though if they can or ever have hybridized with pheasants.

Such crosses would almost certainly be sterile, so as far as it being a bad idea goes, I guess that would depend on what you wanted the crosses for.

Very great idea .... but with photoshop!
