Cross Breeding???

Anyone know what would happen if I was to cross breed a Welsummer rooster with my Leghorn hens. Im looking for a meat bird that would finish a bit quicker than the pure Leghorns I currently rear for eggs and meat? Wondering if crossing would make a difference?

It should improve the carcass and finish period. Although I have eaten many leghorn cockerels as fryers generally they are a poor choice as meat birds. My all time favorite birds ,they are egg laying machines with less problems than the hybrid birds.
