Cross breeding??

Hi, I'm still a noobie here and I only have 2 questions. So please bare with me as I explain my dilemma and please don't ask how I ended up with such a motley crew (just blame it on my mother-in-law)

We currently have a Buff Orpington Roo (Fred), 2 Bantam Red Cochin Roos (they were suppose to be standard size RIR), 1 Silver Laced Wyandotte pullet, 1 barred Plymoth Rock pullet and 3 Ameraucana pullets. They are all between 4 and 5 months old. I am interested in hatching a few of the eggs when they lay and I know it's impossible to know what they will look like, but I don't want to intentionally hatch an ugly chicken.

1) Anyone here have experience crossing any of these ??

2) Any suggestions ??

no uggly chicks will come out of that crossing(buff orp will dominante the rest of the bantam roos)

I think you might have a problem with your roos fighting. That is a high roo to pullet ratio and they will probably fight. I think they recommend like 1:8 or 1:10 and you have 3:4.

As for the chicks...I don't think they will be ugly.

1) Anyone here have experience crossing any of these ?? i kept a mixed flock for a long time but did not mix sizes or keep multiple roosters because as soon as a rooster saw another as a threat to his girls he would beat the holy heck out of them.

2) Any suggestions ?? i would rehome the bantam roos they are smaller and probably wont breed with the larger females and will get there butts handed to them by the large roo.

Well I agree with finding a new home for the bantam roos but you can't convince my wife children of that... LOL. I have every intention of increasing the size of my flock with at least 4 more ladies very soon.; Well thanks for the advise eveyone

the bantams can easily mate with the standards you have 3:5 ratio in which you could put into groups 1:1, 1:2, 1:2 making a duo and 2 trios but with the duo you would have to watch and make sure the one hen doesnt get over worked

i would put the rock with a cochin and that should give you sex links if i remember right and the others can be mix matched how you want them to be
