cross breeding

crossing a tibetan with a texas or English white gives you tuxedo
crossing a golden Italian with a jap or any normal cot will give you 75% success as there is a lethal gene that will kill 25%

does it matter if the tibetan is male and the white is female. vice versa. ????? or if the white was a male and the tibetan is a female???

tbh im new to quails and learning as you are

what I have read and know I have passed on to you

if I find more info I will surely let you know aswell

Goldens bred to any other color will give you 50% goldens and 50% other colors. If you breed golden to golden you will get 25% other colors, 50% golden, and 25% dead embryos.

The golden is a dominate trait that will show on any bird with the gene. If an egg gets a double dose of the gene, it will die. I've been lucky with my goldens in that they lay so many eggs that losing 25% of the chicks in the egg makes little difference.

As for the other colors, I haven't studied the genetics enough to make an educated guess. I know the white gene is covered up by most other genes.
