Crossed beak!

Was feeding my little guys (4 week old coturnix) and picked up one of the smaller of the bunch. Its beak is VERY crossed! Can see its tongue even but its eating pretty good so will it reach butcher size or start to fail as it gets bigger? Its not much smaller than the rest and there are a few the same size as it is with normal beaks so is it even worth worrying about?

Generally these birds live perfectly normal lives, however long they may be.

What causes a crossed beak anyway?

The one that use to make a noise like a gently squeezed squeeky toy died a few days ago and this one with the beak thing..............

Well, I suppose two odd ones out of 50 isnt too bad really.
