I have had my muscovy for about 2 or 3 years now and I want her to become a mother so I'm looking for a male. i wanted to buy a muscovy male but I don't know where to buy them in Puerto Rico. If someone knows I place I can get them in puerto Rico, please tell me!!! I surfed the web and saw that u can cross a muscovy with a domestic duck; resulting in sterile ducks. I would like to see diferent crosses of muscovy with a domestic. What is the result? How would they be: characteristically and fisically? Also, does someone know a place where I can buy ducks in Puerto Rico? Thank u!!!

here is a pic of my female lavender muscovy named "Solita", it means "alone" in spanish because I found her all alone when she was a little duckling in my grandma's house. She has a lot more of the red on her face now.

You might want to email a few sellers on ebay. You may be able to ship eggs from the US to PR. Not sure of the laws on eggs, but I have had plants sent to me from PR without any problems.

Beautiful duck by the way. Love the Lavenders.

Muscovy x domestic duck (mallard-derived) produce "mule" ducks so named because they are sterile as are mules produced from donkey x horse crosses. Muscovy are not actually ducks, but are tree-perching waterfowl from South America.

I have a mule duck here and will take a photo of her for you tomorrow. She is a cross between a muscovy female and a Saxony drake. She is really beautiful! (Although I'm not sure I can get a photo of her that will do her justice.) Generally, mule ducks will be larger than either parent. I believe that is because they don't put as much energy into sexually maturing - just my take on it!

Often they take the duck's coloration and do not have the carbuncles. There is a muscovy x pekin cross that is very popular in Europe as a delicacy. I haven't had muscovy before, but everyone I know that has absolutely loves the flavor. Personally, I don't eat my friends! LOL

I have a duck that I "think" is a mule. Don't know for sure, but he doesn't seem to have as much "red" on his face as most Muscovy drakes I've seen.

He moved in on my sister a month or so ago and is in LOVE w/ one of her girls (not muscovies), she was sitting on some eggs til something got them. My sister thinks he's the ugliest thing and wants me to come get him, so as soon as my ducklings are big enough for him to have some companions I guess I'll bring him home.

Thank u everyone for helping me, but luckily I found a muscovy duckling.
He is still a duckling but I think it is much easier for me to raise him when he is still little than bring an already grown duck. He's name is Jack and I think he is chocolate colored. Later I will post a pic of him for all to see.

Thanks!
