Hi,
We have 4 hens - A Light Sussex, New Hampshire, Isa Brown and Rhode Isalnd Red.
We borrowed a friends Rhode Island Red Rooster to breed some chickens... Non of the girls are going broody so we have an incubator. When all the chicks hatch am I going to be able to tell who belongs to who....?
Does anyone have pictures of these crosses to share....? Or information that would help me please.
Joce.

Your Red rooster over your Light Sussex hen will give you classic red sex links. Handy to know at hatch who is male and who is female

Here's a chart with sex link 101 and pics of what your male and female chicks will look like.

Your Red rooster over your other hens are going to give you mostly red birds. The ISA could throw some white chicks, but the color won't be linked to the sex at all, just random. They should all be great layers, and the cockerels large enough for nice table birds if you're so inclined.

Thank-you. Fabulous info :)
Our kids are super excited about hatching the chickens! We can't wait!!!
