Crossing Buff Orpingtons with Barred Rocks?

I intentionally crossed a buff rooster with a barred hen to start my buff barred project. I have a little roo I will post some pics of him in a bit, he is still just a chick, but you can see his coloring and get an idea what he'll look like. With the barred being the mother all the male offspring (if she is crossed to a roo that is not barred i.e. buff) will come out barred, they will usually have the buff around neck area down on to the back. The female chicks of that crossing will not be barred.
Chicken genetics are tricky and fascinating

I am working on Buff Barred ( Lemon Cuckoo ) Orps. Is that what you are doing too ?

YES!!! Super exciting/ fun! I am just on the first cross, the barred hen to the buff roo, so I still have a ways to go, but I really don't mind. working with the "generations" and seeing the progress from one generation to the next is fun for me

Yep, here is one of the cockerels I'm growing off now, he is a little bigger than that now and I have two pullets so I have a young trio that are Buff Barred (Lemon Cukoo) right now.

I've done a Buff Orpington roo x Barred Rock hens. I LOVE this cross! They are sex-linked, the hens are gorgeous and great layers, and the cockerels grow really fast and big! Here's some pics of mine!

Here they are as chicks, far left and third left are females (gold face), far right is a male (silver face), and second left is a purebred Buff Orpington.

They would still be good layers and decent dual purpose birds, but they would not be sexable at hatch.

What color would the chicks be?

Here's one of my BRxBO crosses from this springs hatch.
