I just want some nice looking chicken that are kind like both of them. I wouldn’t mind making the silkies egg larger, if I keep breeding I would like to have purebred crosses. I am still hoping for it to be a great mother

I would just cross your favorite chickens of the two breeds you have then and go from there since you don't really have anything set in mind

I haven't crossed bantam ARs and silkie before no. I am however working on some sex linked green layers, with ameracauna roosters over barred rock hens. Sex linking has worked so far, although there is a barred chick with a huge tail whereas all of the other cockerels hardly have any tail on them, so that's questionable... Its very fun so far. My oldest group of 5 is about 3-4 months old. I'll be aiming to keep beards in my next gen, so I'll be keeping a bearded cockerel
Okay thanks have you ever done crosses like this

THAT IS SO COOL!!! 😁

Could u pls explain ARs sex-linking and any other breeding or stuff like that terms
I honestly don't know a whole lot lol all I know is a non barred rooster over a barred hen produces barred cockerels and non barred pullets. Barred hens only have one barring gene and pass it to the male offspring, whereas a barred rooster has two barring genes and passes them down to both, so all chicks from a barred roo will all be barred regardless of gender. I'm not sure how I ended up with black pullets, but the gloss on their feathers is beautiful. IMG_20210428_162809.jpg This cockerel is from the oldest hatch, I'm not keeping him simply because he isn't bearded. All chicks have pea combs though which I really like IMG_20210428_162901.jpg This is one of my pullets, she isn't bearded but I'll be keeping her, I think the bearded roo should produce all bearded chicks

Omg I want to see pics those are so cut I know about punnet squares but don’t not how to set it up for the chicks if I find out I can help u
