Crossing Dark Cornish Bantams to Dark Cornish Standards.

What might one expect to gain if they crossed dark Cornish bantams to standard dark Cornish, say a bantam rooster on a standard hen? Could such a cross help improve type and color on the standard bird? Or would it just result in inferior birds?
