I started up my LG incubator 3 days ago. With just a tweak or two, I got it to stay steady at 100.4 humidity 30%. So, last night I put 2 (

) eggs in it.

My daughter is cracking up ! Every time I walk past the incubator, I have to pause and look in it. She is not even a chicken person and she tells me over and over, " Mom ! Looking in the incubator 20 time an hour is NOT going to make them hatch any sooner !"

Now I know what you guys mean when you say that 21 days last for absolutely EVER !

Any way, now I have to get supplies together to make a candler . . . .

My son will be here tomorrow or Monday from Oregon. (The economy took his livelyhood, so he is unemployeed) His first job when he gets here will be to assemble a hatcher for me. THEN he can look for employment.

PS. I should have more eggs by next week from a fellow BYC. So, these two eggs are more or less a test run.

Every one cross their fingers for me and my eggs !

It's just the craziest thing isn't it??? I look at my incubator and hatchers all the time. Talk about a watched pot! It wasn't until I'd about given up and sat in the living room for more than an hour without running to check that my eggs started to hatch last night!

I have a full incubator and I just realized I may not have room for all my eggs coming this week. Talk about bad planning!

Good luck with your new habit...I mean hobby!

I am nearing the end of day 20 and not a peep or giggle. I am going insane. I have repotted plants, move hay in the loft , just stupid stuff trying to keep busy. Nothing helps. At least you can still open you bator if you need to. That releases some anxiety.

Good luck.

Husband >" honey why is there clucking comeing from the closet"
Wife, looking innocent > "Clucking ? Must be youre imagination dear I dont hear anything"

broody hens hatch eggs in 20 days .... dont ask why?

Cause the hens can't wait 21 days either!!!

Crossing just your fingers is unacceptable.

I have personally had better luck keeping my fingers, legs, arms, toes and eyes crossed, you may look totally goofy but it brings more luck with hatches.
