One night I had to pull a roo inside, (at the time he was residing by himself), due to a bad wind that came up suddenly and freezing temps..
Well ok it was actually due to me feeling sorry for him being out there in that.
I had nothing available that was suitable on a spur of the moment, so quickly pulled out a small rubbermaid tub and loaded it down with fresh pine shavings. Small but a lot warmer and safer in there over night for him.
Guess what I heard around 6 am? Right... he crowed.
He could not stand up in it without ducking his head. It was just for over night and he was cosy. He was very please he could get treats when everyone was sleeping.
So no I would not recommend you doing this to stop him from crowing.
