Crow or Raven?

These were flying around today. Are they crows or ravens?

But it really depends on the size. I have no comparison to be able to tell.

I think raven. You can easily tell by tail shape when they are flying. I will find a picture.

Size is a big indicator too.

Most look like immature American Crows. Voice would be more informative for me. I assume Fish Crows are not up your way. They are smaller than American Crows but are more buoyant in flight and have a very different voice. I bet American Crow will eventually be split up into more than one species or subspecies.

Looks like Ravens! They are quite large in Alaska and very dominant in the winter months (9 months a year)!

IMO that is definitely a crow. Look at the overall size and pay careful attention to the area below the bill and on front of the throat. A raven is about twice the weight of a crow and the bill is much longer and thicker.

crows, I don't think I've ever seen a raven. But see crows now and then mobbing a hawk until it flies off. Caw, Cawwing loudly.
