Crowing all night

I have a rooster who is about 8 months old. He started REALLY crowing about a month ago. For the last week, he has been crowing ALL night though. He is so loud that he is waking us up at night. Our other rooster was a lazy bum and never crowed after he went to bed. Is this something that can be changed or is he doomed for the stewpot?

Is there a light that he can see at night? In the coop? Street light? Porch light? If there is, try to shield it. That may be what is making him crow.

My sister's rooster does this same thing, luckily her coop if far enough away from there house it doesn't wake them up. I am wondering the same thing, I mean they have to sleep sometime you would think. Sorry don't have the answer but I hope someone has the answer for us!.
