Crowing at midnight

We came home late tonight, after 11:30, and Hank started crowing. I thought this was unusual and went to check on them. Everyone was on their roosts, all accounted for. I think he heard my car and knew I had come home and hadn't come down to visit at roosting time as I usually do.
Does anyone else have a rooster that does this?

Awh someone loves his mommy. They can tell by the sound of your tires coming down the road.

He crows when I come home in the afternoon but I didn't expect it at midnight. He wouldn't stop until I went down and spoke to everyone. It's nice to be loved by your chickens.

I leave to work at 4am every morning, when theirs any kind of commotion they will crow at night. Now their so used to it they start crowing at 4am on the dot every morning, its now how i know whens its time to leave for work.

I once had a bantam rooster that crowed when i came home from work at 11:30pm.
I also figured out that he crowed whenever there was night time disturbance.
Like the night he woke me up at 3:00am and racoons had wagled loose a board and were inside the coop.
Good thing i woke up and went to see why, he saved everybody that night. His name was Rocket.

One of the roosters on our farm, Garry the game bantam crowed about 50 times from 5am the second day since we got him! My stepdad described the crows like a deflating balloon.Sorry Israel!
