I have a hen who crows very loudly and actually does it pretty well, similar to a rooster but half the volume. She does it every morning around 6:30AM and it's driving me crazy...I'm about to introduce her to the soup pot. So far the neighbors havent said anything, thankfully.

Would rehomeing her, which would hopefully make her the lowest in the flock, work? I could also try locking her in the coop until late morning.

If she goes to a flock with a male she will probably stop crowing.
Are you not allowed roosters where you live?
Yes, a hen in an all girl flock can start taking on male attributes, like crowing.

Roosters are not allowed...but check out the pictures in the thread I just posted. She's now like a transgender rooster :)
