Crowing Hen or Roo?

I'm pretty new to chickens, got my first 4 this spring. They are supposed to all be Hens, however I heard one of them crowing today, it was a weak one but still a crow for sure. S(he) is the dominant one but doesn't have any spurs. I've been doing some reading on here and saw a few folks talking about their crowing hens. Roosters are illegal round these parts so I'm hoping that's the case.
Those of you Chicken experts let me know what you think...

It looks like those might be some downward pointing saddle feathers in that last picture. That would mean crowing rooster.... Sorry.

Bah! that's what I was afraid of, started noticing the comb was much more red than the others. My son is gonna be so upset , dang chicken laws!!
