I have a black copper maran hen and roo one of my daughter's hens hatched out last year. The hen had been laying but stopped and the other hens were picking on her so my daughter segregated her from the flock. When I got her and the roo all her feathers had grown back. She looks beautiful and doesn't act sick. Good appetite, and she and her roo get along well. It's been several weeks since I got them and she still hasn't laid an egg, and lately she's been crowing. At first I chalked it up to the change in environment and that once she got used to her new home things would work themselves out. But then I read about gender reversal due to problems with the left ovary. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, is this something that can be treated?
