I have a Easter egg-er that is 2 years old, she has decided that shes a rooster. I just added 4 new pullets to the coop 2 days ago,, and both mornings since I added the extra girls she is out early on her toes flapping her wings making her attempt at crowing. Could this be a sign of dominance? Live in town and cant have roosters... I don't want the neighbors to complain. HELP

I have the same issue. My Americauna has been 'crowing' for about 3 months now. It was very alarming when she started. I lost the rest of her flock when she was about 2 months old and I got her some new companions (day old chicks). She is clearly the top of the pecking order so yes I believe it is a show of dominance. The last couple of mornings, I can hear someone else trying to crow with her. My neighbors are going to hate that. Butter doesn't just do it in the morning. It is hilarious to see her stretch her neck and crow at me. I was worried she was a roo but she is a hen.
